Affordable Care Act Plans (Obamacare)

The Affordable Care Act (ACA)was intended to increase health insurance quality and affordability, lower the uninsured rate by expanding insurance coverage and reduce the costs of healthcare. It introduced mechanisms including mandates, subsidies, and insurance exchanges. The law requires insurers to accept all applicants, cover a specific list of conditions and charge the same rates regardless of pre-existing conditions. ACA plans are offered “on” or “off” the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM). Through the FFM you may qualify for a federal tax credit which will help reduce your monthly premium.

Policies for Cancer only or other Specified Disease insurance pays benefits, in addition to other existing coverage, that can be used to help cover the costs associates with the treatment of critical illnesses. Benefits can be used to offset the loss of income, high deductibles and travel expenses.
